What is an Ape?

​Created after World War 2, the Ape is a three-wheeled light commercial vehicle, manufactured and marketed in Italy by Piaggio as an adaptation of the company's Vespa scooter. The Ape has since become a beloved Italian staple. The Happy Tap Truck was imported from Italy and professionally converted into a mobile 5-tap bar; so we can bring the party to you!

What are the benefits of tap service?

Our draft system improves your guest’s experience by speeding up service, eliminating a tremendous amount of waste and lowering your alcohol cost. Plus, it’s just super cute, right? Our Ape is unbranded, so we can completely customize to complement your unique event. 

 

What drinks can you serve?

The state of the art Happy Tap includes both CO2 and pressurized air which allows us to pour both carbonated and still beverages of all kinds. Additionally, 2 industrial high-end Lindr keg chillers keep your beverages the perfect temperature all evening. 4 Torpedo Kegs allow us to create custom cocktails for your event. So even if its not traditionally sold in a keg, you can still have it! All of this, coupled with the aesthetic exterior, make it the perfect compliment for any event!  The Happy Tap can serve up a vast array of beverages- beer, wine, prosecco, champagne, cider, cocktails, mocktails, kombucha and more! We love working with our clients to customize drinks menus that capture your own personal style/vibe.

 

Do you have a liquor license? Are you insured?
The state of Colorado does not allow for mobile liquor licenses. However, we carry full liquor liability as well as general liability insurance. All of our bartenders are TIPS certified to ensure your guests are well taken care of and you don't have to worry!
 

Do you provide the alcohol?
Colorado state law prohibits us from purchasing the alcohol for you. We partner with craft breweries, liquor stores and distributors to provide you great selection and price.  You, your venue or caterer must purchase the alcohol.  We will help you develop a detailed shopping list, and once approved, we can arrange for delivery as well as return of the kegs.
 

What type of events can the Happy Tap Truck be booked for?
Call on the Happy Tap when you want to elevate your event: weddings, engagement parties, bridal and baby showers, fund raisers, graduations, Mitzvahs, retirement parties, sports tournaments, open houses, bachelorette/bachelor parties, neighborhood block parties, festivals, brand/marketing promotions, game day celebrations, and much more.  We’re here for any special occasion where you want a unique and engaging beverage experience.
 

Do you offer add-ons for a more personalized experience?
Absolutely! Because the Happy Tap Ape is unbranded, we can work with you to customize every aspect. If you want to add decorative floral, signage (neon is our favorite), staging, and more, we are happy to coordinate with you, your event planner or caterer. Custom menus, cocktails/mocktails, tap handles, cocktail toppers,  glassware, napkins, coasters, stir sticks, matches, balloon installations and more are all options.

 

How much space is needed for the Happy Tap Truck?
The Happy Tap requires a level area and enough space for set-up. The dimensions of the Ape are (L 10.5ft x W 5.5ft x H 5.5ft). It will fit through a standard double door (6 ft.) for easy access to indoor events. We will work with you to ensure you find the perfect placement.
 

What geographies do you serve?
The Happy Tap Truck chills in Denver, but we love to roadtrip. Travel beyond 25 miles will incur additional fees. 
 

Is power required?
The Happy Tap needs 110 volts of power for the draft equipment and lighting (a standard wall outlet), preferably dedicated.  Not to worry, we can bring a quiet generator if there is not reliable power onsite. 
 

What is required to secure a date?
Once we receive a signed rental contract and a deposit, your date is secured.
